Dr Peter MacKenzie

MBChB, MRCGP · Founder, Mara Medical & Aesthetics

Peter is an Aberdeen graduate and has worked as a GP in Aberdeenshire since 2012. He has experience in minor surgery and aesthetic procedures, alongside 25 years of clinical experience.

He takes a holistic approach, working with each client to reach realistic, natural-looking goals, whether that’s a medical concern you’d like more time to talk through or a subtle refresh.

Private GP & medical aesthetics FAQs

Do I need a GP referral for a private blood test?+

No. You can book a private GP appointment or private blood test directly with Dr Peter. Blood tests are £30 plus the laboratory fee, which is always quoted before you go ahead, and samples are sent to an accredited lab.

How much is a private GP appointment in Stonehaven?+

A 30-minute, face-to-face private GP appointment with Dr Peter is £120. A follow-up for the same problem within 6 weeks is £60.

How much is lip filler?+

Lip filler is £250 for 1ml. Every treatment starts with a £50 consultation, which is deducted from your treatment if you go ahead within 4 weeks.

How much are anti-wrinkle injections?+

Anti-wrinkle injections start from £210 for one upper-face area, £270 for two areas and £320 for three areas (brow, frown lines and crow’s feet). All treatments follow a face-to-face consultation with the doctor.

What are skin boosters?+

Skin boosters such as Profhilo and Skinvive improve hydration, glow and skin quality without adding volume. Profhilo is £275 per session or £510 for the initial course of two, and Skinvive is £350.

How are skin tags removed?+

Skin tags and other cosmetic skin blemishes are treated with CryoPen, which freezes the area precisely at −89°C. Treatment starts from £50.
